Picnik would work very nicely with students who are more visual learners. If I was presenting a lesson of new vocabulary words students could go to the computer lab and find photos that they enjoyed using as representations of the words. This would help give the students ownership of the lesson and the material by providing opportunities for student choice that reflects student interest.

Picnik is also something I that I could use when working on new vocabulary words with my students. I like the idea of ownership of the materials. That is essential when it comes to grasping the meaning of a new words and picture help so much with that.

David, excellent application. I’m becomming more and more interested in the idea of ownership and digital images for learning. Kids can do so much with just pictures.

David, I am becoming very interested in this idea myself. I agree that this will be an outstanding way for students to make connections with vocabulary. Thanks for sharing picnik and the ideas.
